During his time at CERAC, Manuel has participated in different projects related to the research programs armed violence and development and conflict analysis and political violence. He has worked with a broad variety of research topics such as demobilization, disarmament and reinsertation (DDR), the effect of arms carrying restriction on the levels of violence, justice administration and female delinquency.
Some of his main area of interest is economic growth, the economic analysis of conflict, mechanisms of impact evaluation, political economy and the labor market in Colombia.
Currently Manuel is developing research on the political economy of conflict and political violence in Colombia.
Manuel is a grantee of the Young Researchers scholarship "Virginia Gutiérrez de Pineda" of Colciencias.
Prior to his work with CERAC, he made his internship with the center of research of BBVA.
