Dr. Robert Muggah is the Research Director of the Small Arms Survey at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. There he oversees research on post-conflict transition and recovery, arms control and armed violence, disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) and security sector reform (SSR) in over 30 countries. While working on approaches to mapping human security in Colombia, he is also leading the development of OECD/DAC Guidance for Armed Violence Reduction and serves on several UN expert panels. In addition to serving as a professional fellow of the US-based Social Science Research Council (SSRC) while at Oxford University, he is also an His work is published in peer-reviewed and policy-relevant journals, academic volumes and the international media.
