CERAC works with a human security perspective and its research of focuses on those problems that fundamentally affect the people and the communities. CERAC acknowledge that the impact of violence and armed conflicts is one of the main obstacles to the societal progress and the wellbeing of the people. From this follows that CERAC main concern is violence reduction.
CERAC different research programs seek to identify and better understand the dimensions, the nature and the causes of violence and armed conflict in Colombia and Latin America. Hence, it is through evidence-based research we wish to contribute to violence reduction.
Throughout the different research projects that CERAC carries out it strives for innovation and progress, both in methodological terms and in regard to the production of knowledge relevant for what CERAC considers one of the principal problems in the Colombian society and other Latin American countries.
