| Katherine Aguirre recently obtained an undergraduate degree in economics from Universidad del Valle in Cali. She completed an internship in the Department of Economic Research at Banco de la República and also at the Departamento Nacional de Estadística (DANE), where she worked in the 2003 Colombian Victimization Survey. Her research interests include regional and urban economics. At CERAC, she is applying epidemiological and demographic methods in the analysis of conflict and violent crime.
